China Health Promotion Foundation’s “China health promotion – cancer prevention and treatment public welfare event” officially launched
“China health promotion – cancer prevention and treatment public welfare event” officially launched on June 6, 2021. This event was sponsored by the China Health Promotion Foundation and undertaken by the Management Committee of cancer prevention and development fund of China Health Promotion Foundation. Over one hundred specialist representatives from authoritative hospitals and cancer rehabilitation associations all over China attended this launching conference.
Xu Xiegu, executive vice president and Secretary General of China health promotion foundation, Xi Lisuo, Deputy Secretary General of China Health Promotion Foundation and vice chairman of cancer prevention and treatment special fund management committee, Cui Baoshan, chairman of cancer prevention and treatment special fund management committee, Zhang Jinghong, vice chairman of the expert committee of cancer prevention and treatment special fund, Bai Zongke, chairman of Guangdong Baize Health Technology Co., Ltd., Yang Yun, founder of Shanghai Association of brand authorized enterprises, and Yuan Zhengping from Shanghai Cancer Rehabilitation Club, jointly launched the event.
Mr. Xu Xiegu mentioned that the prevention and control of chronic diseases, especially cancer and other major chronic diseases, has always been the critical point and difficulty of our work during the comprehensive promotion of Health China development. Cancer prevention and control is a global problem. The overall incidence and mortality rate of cancer in China are increasing year by year. It has become a significant public health problem that seriously threatens people’s health in China. It is of great significance to launch this public welfare event, actively conduct health education throughout the country, popularize a good lifestyle, and promote early screening, diagnosis, and treatment for high-risk people.
Bai Zongke, vice chairman of the cancer prevention and treatment special fund management committee, introduced the project content. Following “Clinical diseases prevention, chronic diseases management, wellness promotion,” in 2021, the Organizing Committee of cancer prevention and control public welfare event will invite relevant experts to prepare the outlines of cancer prevention and control, plan to organize ten cancer prevention and control promotion events and 50 education conferences nationwide, produce 20 cancer prevention and control related videos, support the application research and promotion of cutting-edge technologies for cancer prevention and control, help primary medical institutions to improve their ability of cancer prevention and rehabilitation.
To conduct this public welfare event, we must rely on experts and their talents. At the launching meeting, Mr. Xu Xiegu issued appointment letters to specialists on cancer prevention and treatment. He also appealed to social communities to actively participate, support, and jointly contribute to cancer prevention and control in China.
Professor Chen Chengwei, on behalf of the employed experts, said that they would actively support public welfare events of cancer prevention and treatment, work in a realistic attitude, cooperate with the project team, and strive for people’s health.
Mr. Yuan Zhengping from Shanghai Cancer Rehabilitation Club shared his successful anticancer experience. He proved that cancer is not fearful, and early screening and treatment are the keys to cancer prevention and control. Mr.Yuan also said that he would initiatively support the public welfare activities of cancer prevention and control, deliver positive messages to society, and let the public understand that cancer is preventable, controllable, and curable.
The event committee issued donation certificates to enterprises and individuals who donated money for this public welfare event to express gratitude. 
Xi Lisuo, Deputy Secretary-General of China health promotion foundation, and Cui Baoshan, chairman of the Management Committee of cancer prevention and treatment special fund, jointly hosted the launching meeting of this event. 
The first scientific-educational lecture was held right after the launching meeting.
Professor Liu Changgong, president of scientific research institute of Mengchao Cancer Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai University, introduced the latest progress in tumor cell therapy research
Ye Yukun, the chief physician of the PLA cancer research center, shared “Internet + early prevention and treatment of cancer.”
Professor Li Bin, deputy director of Shanghai Institute of immunology, introduced the new progress of tumor immunotherapy
Zhang Jinghong, a chief physician of the Nephrology center of 905 Hospital of Naval Military Medical University, hosted the first public lecture on cancer prevention and treatment.
The launch of this event will raise public attention to cancer prevention, practice a healthy lifestyle and scientific-rational diet, encourage cancer patients to receive standard treatment and rehabilitation, and help achieve cancer prevention and treatment.
